Getting the most out of the WYSIWYG editor « Back
The WYSIWYG (stands for What You See Is What You Get) is a very powerful tool within the Coursebuilder system. It allows you to customise your text to and add pictures to best display your intended message.
Here is a quick walking tour of the controls of your WYSIWYG editor.
HTML – If you have HTML coding skills, you can view and modify the HTML code that your inputs are generating. This is a handy feature for advanced users.
– Select the text that you want to Bold and click on the B.
– Allows the user to Italicise text.
– Underline important words, phrases or titles.
– Aligns selected text to the left.
– Aligns selected text to the centre.
– Aligns selected text to the right.
– Justifies the selected text.
– This allows the user to easily create subscript if necessary.
– This allows the user to create superscript.
– Add special symbols or characters.
– This will add bullet points to the selected text.
– Add a hyperlink to another site:
- You must first type in the link’s URL (You can copy/paste it from the web).
- You can set the link to open in a new window or in the same window, give the link a Title and choose a Class - how you want the text to display.
- To remove a hyperlink, highlight the text and select the ‘Unlink’ button.
– Add a Picture to your text:
- Select ‘Browse’ and find the image to upload from your local computer.
- Select the Size you want the image to appear in your text. Coursebuilder is smart and will resize the image to the size selected.
- Give your image a Title and select how you want the image aligned (Left, Right or Not Aligned). Then select ‘Insert’.
Styles Dropdown:
Here you can highlight text and make it STANDOUT. First, highlight the text you want to emphasise. Next, select a Style from the dropdown list. It’s as easy as that!
– To remove a Style, highlight the text and select the Remove Formatting button.
